The Pioneers received all 34 first-place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll conducted in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) with input from coaches and members of the media from each of the six (6) Division I college hockey conferences as well as officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey.

Denver has held the top spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll for three (3) consecutive weeks. The Pioneers accumulated 510 points, 43 more points than No. 2 Boston University.

Four (4) NCHC schools were ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll with St. Cloud State University at No. 4 (353 points), the University of North Dakota at No. 8 (246 points) and the University of Minnesota Duluth at No. 9 (233 points). Denver received 45 first-place votes to take the No. 1 spot in the USCHO.com weekly poll for the second consecutive week. The Pioneers received 995 points from a group of 50 Division I college coaches and members of the media, collecting 48 more points than No. 2 Boston University and 146 more points than No. 3 Harvard University. Boston University was the only other school to receive first-place votes with five (5).

Four (4) NCHC schools were ranked in the USCHO.compoll with the University of Minnesota Duluth at No. 5 (726 points), St. Cloud State University at No. 6 (723 points) and the University of North Dakota at No. 8 (678 points).
