The University of Denver Pioneers have added Ryan Orgel from the Lone Star Brahmas (North American Hockey League), the team announced on Thursday.
Orgel, a 5’11” 185-pound defenseman, recorded seven (7) points (5-2-7) and six (6) penalty minutes through 11 games with Lone Star during the 2017-2018 season. The Los Angeles, Calif. native registered 38 points (15-23-38) and 95 penalty minutes through 67 games in the NAHL.
“Ryan has continued to get better throughout his career in the North American Hockey League,” Pioneers coach Jim Montgomery said. “His great start to this season led to our decision to add him to improve our defense for this year and years to come.”
Orgel is eligible to join the Pioneers immediately.
