March 29, 2017 DENVER -University of Denver men's golf senior Petter Mikalsen was named Summit League Men's Golfer of the Week in a release by the league on Wednesday.
This is the second time this year that the Norway native has been honored by the league for his great play, taking home golfer of the month honors back on Nov. 4.
This is Mikalsen's fifth golfer of the week award from the league. He also has two golfer of the month awards as well.
"It's a testament to his dedication and incredible work ethic," head coach Erik Billinger said. "He played two great rounds in Eugene on a difficult course. I am proud of Petter not only for his hard work, but also his leadership on this team and striving to be a good example for the younger players. Petter is excited about the direction of his game and this award is an honor for him to receive."
The senior turned in a good performance at the Duck Invitational this past weekend, finishing tied for 14th with a three-round score of 215 (69-69-77), 2-over-par.
Mikalsen's play marked the third time this season that he has led the team with the low score at a tournament.
DU returns to action for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on April 10.
