COLORADO SPRINGS (DU/CSCAA) - The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs were recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Association of America on Monday morning, as both programs earned CSCAA Scholar Swim and Dive Team honors for their academic success in the fall quarter, the coaches' association announced.
Denver's women's program was one of 173 women's programs in the country to earn the honor, finishing sixth in the nation in grade point average last fall. The Pioneer men were one of 96 programs to earn the honor from their fall academic success.
For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
UP NEXT: Denver's divers will be in action this weekend at Air Force Feb. 2-3 before the men's and women's swimming and diving programs head to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the 2018 Summit League Championships Feb. 14-17.
ALUMNI GIVING CHALLENGE
The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
