DENVER – The University of Denver women's swimming and diving team kicked off homecoming weekend by defeating Colorado State 168-132 on Friday afternoon at El Pomar Natatorium.

In the first dual of the season, senior Heidi Bradley swept the backstroke events and was a part of wins in the 200 free and 200 medley relays. Sophomore Aysia Leckie also finished with two first place times in individual events, taking the top spot in the 100 free and 200 free with times of 53.12 and 1:53.74, respectively. 

In diving, sophomore Zora Opalka earned the first win of her collegiate career, taking the 3-meter title with a 272.55. 

The Pioneers opened the meet by taking the top-two spots in the 200 medley relay, grabbing 15 of the 17 points scored in the event. 

Leckie's win in the 200 free was backed up by Annelyse Tullier, Avery Niemann and Molly Kuettel's top-4 finishes in the event to give Denver 14 of the 19 points scored in the fifth event of the day. 

Leckie, Sarah Lingen and Kuettel secured three of the top four spots in the 100 free, with Leckie touching the wall first in 53.12. Lingen was 0.17 seconds behind her and Kuettel finished in 53.74.  

Kylie Cronin won the 100 fly for the second time in her career on Friday with a 56.20, followed closely behind Josie Valette's time of 56.70. The duo also finished 1-2 in the 200 fly earlier in the meet with times of 2:05.98 and 2:07.62.

The men's program held an intersquad in conjunction with the women's dual.
