Budy and Sean
Comrie have been named to NHL Central Scouting's Players to Watch List for the 2019 NHL Draft set to be held on June 21-22 at Rodgers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. Both players received C ratings as potential fourth, fifth or sixth-round selections in the upcoming draft.
Budy, a 5'10" 181-pound forward, has two shots and six penalty minutes through six games this season. Prior to joining the Pioneers, the Langley B.C. native logged 101 points (37-64-101) in 105 career games with the Langley
Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League (
BCHL)
Comrie, a 6'0" 168-pound defenseman, has two shots through two games this season. Prior to Denver, the Edmonton, Alberta native posted 52 points (12-40-52) in 102 career games with the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (
AJHL), winning the AJHL championship in 2018.
The Pioneers have had at least one (1) student-athlete selected in each of the last 17 NHL Drafts.
