
Sanes and Groters Reach the Podium on Night Two of CCCAN Championships

Incoming freshman Patrick Groters took second in the 50 back and sixth in the 200 breast
ARUBA – A pair of University of Denver men's swimmers reached the podium in their first night and the second night overall of the 2018 CCCAN Championships in Aruba.
Rising sophomore Adriel Sanes (Rosharon, Texas) and incoming freshman Patrick Groters (Santa Cruz, Aruba) opened the second night of the finals at the meet with third and sixth place finishes, respectively, in the 200 breast. Sanes swam the event in 2:22.96, while Groters reached the wall in 2:24.91.
Groters swam a few events later in the 50 back, clocking in at 26.94, dropping 0.34 seconds off of his prelims time to take the second spot in the finals.
Sanes and Groters will be back in action again tomorrow for night three of the CCCAN Championships. Groters will once again take part in two events, swimming in the 100 back and 400 IM, while Sanes will swim in the 50 fly.
