Denver’s 200 Free Relay Ties Meet Record on Night Two of Senior Sectionals

Hugo Sykes took second in the men’s 200 free on Friday night
GRESHAM, Ore. – The University of Denver men's swimming and diving 200 free relay quartet of freshman Cameron Auchinachie (Binghamton, N.Y.), assistant coach Kyle Robrock, sophomore Robin Kuebler (Centennial, Colo.) and sophomore Sid Farber (Portland, Ore.) combined for a 1:32.51 in the 200 free relay to tie the meet record on night two of the Senior Sectionals Friday at Mt. Hood Community College.
Sophomore Josie Valette (Boulder, Colo.) qualified for her third A-Final in two nights, taking seventh with a time of 2:06.92.
The Pioneer men had four swimmers earn spots in the finals of the 200 free on Friday night. Sophomore Hugo Sykes (Weston, Conn.) touched the wall in second with a 1:52.97, Auchinachie took fifth with a 1:54.01, freshman Anthony Nosack (Beaverton, Ore.) recorded a 17th place finish with a 1:56.59 and Kuebler took 18th, a tenth of a second behind Nosack.
Freshman Ally Yancy (Cave Creek, Ariz.) wrapped up Denver's finals appearances on Friday with a 30th place finish in the women's 400 IM, clocking in at 5:15.91.
