PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

Hannah Adler equalized a Colorado State opener in the second half to earn a 1-1 draw for the Pioneers in their 2018 season opener against the Rams at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
• DU lost its second Colorado Cup match by a count of 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Prentup Field on the campus of the University of Colorado.
• Denver will begin a two-game road trip with a familiar old Sun Belt Conference trip for the Pioneers as they visit Florida Atlantic and Florida International this week. The FAU match will kickoff the trip on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT, while the Pioneers clash with FIU will take place on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET/10 a.m. MT.
• Denver returns to the Mile High City next week to open a three-game homestand at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. The Pioneers will begin the home stretch with a match against Iowa State on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. MT.
HEAD COACH JEFF HOOKER
• Denver's
Jeff Hooker is in his 27th season in charge of the women's program.
• Hooker coached both the men's and the women's programs during the 1996 and 1997 seasons, making this officially his 29th season as a head coach at DU.
• DU's head man enters this match with a 338-145-45 women's record, and a career record of 358-157-49.
• The nine-time conference coach of the year participated in his 10th NCAA DI Tournament in 2017.
• In league play in his career, Hooker is 163-37-13, including 158-33-13 with the women's program.
• In the overall NCAA record books heading into this season, Hooker is the 16th winningest head coach by victories (338).
OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN
• Senior outside back
Mary DeWalt will serve as captain for
Jeff Hooker's side for the second-straight year. DeWalt has earned 55 CAPS for the Crimson and Gold, making 46 starts. DeWalt has nine career points on a goal and seven assists.
• Junior goalkeeper
Brittany Wilson will also serve as co-captain, and is on 41 CAPS for DU.
• DeWalt suffered a lower body injury during the preseason.
THE TWO Cs
• 17 student-athletes from Denver's 2018 roster come from either Colorado or California, including 14 that opted to stay in their home state for their college careers.
• Colorado and California are the only two states that more than two student-athletes call home.
• Of the two major club programs in the state of Colorado, Denver has seven players from the Colorado Storm and five from Real Colorado.
LEAGUE TITLES
• With the victory against Omaha on Oct. 30, 2016, Denver claimed a share of its eighth NCAA Division I regular season league title, and its second in the Summit League (2013)...The Pioneers won the regular season in their only year in the WAC (2012) and won five regular season titles in the Sun Belt (2002, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010).
• The Pioneers won their ninth league tournament title in their Division I history last season (Summit: 2013 and 2017)...Denver won seven Sun Belt Conference Tournament Titles (2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).
A LOOK BACK AT THE 2017 CAMPAIGN
• Denver opened its 2017 campaign with wins at home against Air Force and in a neutral site match against Colorado State in Boulder. Both matches were 1-0 extra time wins for the Pioneers, the first time Denver had gone to extra time in its first two matches in its Division I history. Denver opened its season with three-straight matches and four of its first six in extra time.
• The Pioneers won their first two matches for the sixth time in their Division I history and the first time since 2013 (2003, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013).
• DU started the 2013 campaign winners of its first seven and went unbeaten in its first eight matches.
• Denver was unbeaten through four matches for the sixth time in its Division I history in 2017 (2002, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2017).

Hannah Adler, who led Denver in goals (4) and points (12) in 2016, had 22 points (9G-4A) in 21 matches in 2017, including seven points Aug. 25-27 to earn Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week honors.
• Senior
Jessie Dancy led the Pioneers with 31 points on 14 goals and three assists.
• Both of the Pioneers' losses in Summit League play in 2017 came in extra time by a count of 2-1 (vs. South Dakota State, at Oral Roberts).
• Prior to 2017, Denver didn't have a player with more than four goals since 2013, but had three with at least four in the last campaign (Halvorson - 5, Adler - 9, Dancy - 14).
• Entering the 2017 NCAA Tournament,
Jessie Dancy was eighth in the country in goals with 14 and 19th in the country in points with 31. Adler is 78th in goals with nine.
• In Denver's win against Western Illinois, the Pioneers had one player score from each of its four classes for the first time since Oct. 26, 2012 at Idaho (Ivins, Willis, DiGiacomo/Battelli, Bast).
UNIVERSITY OF DENVER SOCCER STADIUM
• The University of Denver Soccer Stadium opened in 2009.
• The 2,000 seat stadium hosts both the men's and women's soccer programs, and sits above the 10,000 square-foot Pat Bowlen Strength and Conditioning Complex.
• The stadium has hosted the 2009 MPSF Men's Soccer Tournament, 2014 Summit League Men's and Women's Championships and 2015 and 2016 Summit League Men's Championship.
• DU Soccer Stadium has also hosted the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Women's Soccer First Round and the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Men's Soccer Second Round.
• Denver's women's program is 60-17-5 since the stadium opened.
EIGHTH ANNUAL COLORADO CUP
• The tournament started with just four teams for three years between 2011-13.
• When Colorado State's women's program started ahead of the 2014 season, Air Force and CSU joined the tournament.
• The tournament was created by former Colorado coach and current Colorado State head coach Bill Hempen and DU head coach
Jeff Hooker.
• Denver is 11-13-1 against Colorado teams since the tournament started in 2011.
• Denver won the 2013 Colorado Cup, and CU had won the other five prior to last season...Had the Denver-Colorado match counted towards the Colorado Cup during the first three years, Denver would have won both the 2011 and 2012 Colorado Cups.
• Northern Colorado won the 2017 Colorado Cup, the only team to take nine points from their three matches in the tournament. Denver finished second, its highest finish since the field was expanded to six teams.
