Denver Alumni Update: 2018 European Championships

Loncar and Roas are swimming in the 2018 championships in Scotland
GLASGOW, Scotland –The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs have a pair of alumni swimming at this week's 2018 European Championships at the Tollcross Swimming Centre.
Recent graduate Anton Loncar (Hillsboro, Ore.) is competing for Croatia this week at the championships. Loncar has completed two of his three scheduled events, taking fourth in both of his first two preliminary heats. The 2018 Denver senior clocked in at 26.62 in the 50 back prelims and set a new DU Long Course Meter record with a time of 55.39 in the 100 back prelims.
Loncar will swim Tuesday morning in the preliminaries of the 200 back.
Former Pioneer Johanna Roas (Munich, Germany/Denver '17) swam the third leg in the 400 free relay for a German relay that finished eighth in the finals with a time of 3:39.37.
In other alumni swimming news, former Pioneer three-time All-American Ignacio Jimenez (1985-88) finished second in the 400 IM (Men 50-54) with a 5:08.27 and second in the 200 back at 2:24.96 in the 2018 Pan American Masters Swimming Championships in Orlando.
