Pioneers Defeat North Dakota State in Four Sets

FARGO, N.D. – The University of Denver women's volleyball team defeated North Dakota State in four sets on Sunday by scores of 25-21, 25-17, 27-29, and 25-15. The Pioneers remain an undefeated 3-0 in Summit League competition as the Bison fall to 1-4.

This marks DU's 12th-consecutive win, improving to 14-1 this season.

"Today's match against NDSU showed us two things: we are a tough serving team, and even when a position struggles, we have the depth and balance to still be successful," said head coach Tom Hogan. "We still have a lot of work to maintain a championship level when we play, but these glimpses of how good we can be fuels our desire to get better. Next week is going to be very challenging with two matches on the road against very good opponents, and we will need to focus on improving each and every day."

Pioneer Performers:
Senior Becca Latham led the team with 16 kills. Other category leaders were Taylor Joachim in hitting percentage (.476), Ellie Anderson in assists (27), Macy Carrabine in digs (20) and Tina Boe in blocks (four).

Running Away With It:
During the second set Andrea Eddy led the team on a six-point scoring run, ultimately leading to a 25-17 set victory. Eddy tallied seven total aces this match, a career high. She now ranks third in Denver history for individual match records.
