DENVER – Denver Pioneers men's hockey freshman
Cole Guttman has been named NCHC Rookie of the Week and
Filip Larsson has been named NCHC Goalie of the Week, the NCHC announced on Monday.
Guttman registered one goal and one assist in Denver's 1-0 and 3-2 (OT) wins against Omaha last weekend. In addition to scoring the overtime winner on Saturday, the Los Angeles, Calif. native logged a +3 plus/minus rating, four shots, one blocked shot and a 13-10 record in the faceoff circle. Guttman, a Tampa Bay Lightning prospect, leads NCAA freshmen with 10 goals. He has 17 points (10-7-17) through 20 games this season.
Larsson went 2-0-0 with 50 saves on 52 shots last weekend, making 21 stops on Friday for his first career shutout. The Stockholm, Sweden native finished the two games with a 1.00 goals against average and .962 save percentage. Larsson, a Detroit Red Wings prospect, is 6-0-1 this season with a 1.93 GAA and .929 SV%.
