DENVER – Denver Pioneers men's hockey freshman forward Tyler Ward has been named NCHC Rookie of the Month for January, the league announced on Wednesday.

Ward recorded three goals and two assists in seven games to share the lead among NCHC rookies. In addition to his point totals, the Kamloops, B.C. native recorded 13 shots, a +3 plus/minus rating and the game-winning goal on Jan. 4 vs. Wisconsin. Ward has 12 points (5-7-12) through 21 games this season.
