SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Denver women's basketball junior guard
Lauren Loven has been named the Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The honor is Loven's second-career Summit League Player of the Week award after winning on February 19
th last season. The award is Denver's second this season as forward
Madison Nelson was named Player of the Week back on November 26
th.
Denver went 2-0 in its first Summit League home-stand with wins over [RV] South Dakota (104-99) and North Dakota (87-66).
Loven a native of Scottsdale, Arizona, recorded a career-high 32 points in the win over South Dakota and responded with a 24 point effort against North Dakota. The nation's leader in 3's made went 6-of-10 from 3 against the Coyotes and 6-of-8 against the Fighting Hawks while shooting a perfect 10-of-10 combined from the free throw line. The junior also added three steals and two blocks in Denver's two victories.
