TULSA – Sophomore forward
Camryn MacMillan (Littleton, Colo.) netter her second second-half equalizer in the last three matches to earn Denver a 1-1 draw at Oral Roberts on Sunday afternoon at Case Soccer Complex.
"I love the way we started again, creating three or four quality chances in the first 10 minutes," head coach
Jeff Hooker said. "We just have to do a better job of putting those chances on target. It's frustrating when our mistakes lead to our opponents' best opportunities, but that happened again today. I'm happy with how we responded in the second half to come from behind, and continue to apply pressure after the equalizer. We were unfortunate not to come away with three points."
Oral Roberts grabbed the lead in the 33
rd minute on Jordan Langebartles breakthrough that came against the run of play. The Golden Eagles' opener was assisted by Mia Kitterman.
MacMillan's equalizer came in the 51
st minute when she finished her second goal of the season off a feed from
Mary DeWalt (West Bend, Wisc.).
Denver controlled the chances throughout the match, outshooting Oral Roberts 15-4 on the road, including a 5-1 edge in shots on target. The Pioneers also earned seven corners in the match, but were unable to grad a winner in the second half or in extra time.
