DENVER – Bobby Brink and
Magnus Chrona of the No. 1 Denver Pioneers men's hockey team (8-0-0, NCHC 0-0-0-0) were named National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Players of the Month for October, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Brink was named NCHC Rookie of the Month, recording three goals and three assists through six games to lead all NCHC freshmen skaters. In addition to his points, Brink tallied two power-play goals, four PIMS and a +2 rating. He recorded multi-point games on Oct. 11 vs. Lake Superior State and Oct. 19 vs. Boston College.
Chrona was named NCHC Goalie of the Month after a 6-0-0 start to his collegiate career, posting a 1.83 GAA, .930 SV% and two shutouts to lead all NCAA freshmen. The Stockholm, Sweden native and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect turned aside all 28 shots on Oct. 6 vs. Alaska and all 23 shots on Oct. 18 vs. Boston College.
UP NEXT: Denver men's hockey presented by Centura Health will begin conference play on the road against Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 8-9.
