DENVER – Freshman forward
Bobby Brink of the No. 6 Denver Pioneers hockey team (11-4-3, 3-3-2-1) was named to the final 23-man U.S. National Junior Team roster, set to compete at the 2020 World Junior Championship to be held from Dec. 26 – Jan. 5 in the Czech Republic, USA Hockey announced on Monday.
Brink has seven goals and six assists through 18 games in his freshman year. In addition to his point totals, Brink has fired 51 shots and paces the Pioneers on the man advantage with four power-play goals.
Prior to coming to Denver, the Philadelphia Flyers prospect had 35 goals, 33 assists, 22 penalty minutes and a +23 rating in 43 games as 2019 USHL Forward of the Year for the Sioux City Musketeers. Internationally, Brink has previously represented the U.S. at the 2018 World Junior "A" Challenge and 2019 U-18 World Championship, winning a gold medal and tournament MVP in the former and helping the Americans to a bronze medal in the latter.
The U.S. has medaled in four consecutive World Junior Championships (2019-Silver, 2018-Bronze, 2017-Gold, 2016-Bronze) for the first time in U.S. history. All U.S. games will be broadcast live on the NHL Network in the United States. The tournament schedule for the Americans is listed below. The U.S. expects to announce its final roster on Dec. 24, two days before the tournament begins.
