DENVER – The No. 9 University of Denver women's lacrosse team (4-0) will welcome No. 20 Michigan (5-0) to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium at 12 p.m. MT on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Both teams will look to continue their undefeated streak in the 2019 campaign.
The Pioneers are fresh off a top-five victory, having taken down [then] No. 4 Stony Brook on Feb. 24, while the Wolverines are coming off a 8-6 win after defeating [then] No. 14 Colorado on Sunday.
In addition to being No. 9 in this week's IWLCA Coaches Poll, the Pioneers check in at No. 7 in both the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the U.S. Lacrosse/Nike Poll.
Carson Gregg has led the Denver defense with 29 saves on the year, recording 11 against Stony Brook, and ranks No. 2 in the NCAA with 4.92 goals against average. Senior
Elizabeth Behrins leads the team with 15 ground balls this season, while her little sister
Bea Behrins leads with 10 goals.
Michigan comes to the Mile High City with five-consecutive wins under its belt, having been challenged to double-overtime against Dartmouth on Feb. 17, winning 11-10. Adriana Pendino leads the Wolverines with 14 goals and 16 points on the year, followed by Lilly Grass who has totaled 12 goals and Caitlin Muir who has tallied 10 assists. Mira Shane has seen the most time in net, accumulating 48 saves and a .615 save percentage in five games.
