DENVER – After a victorious season opener against Stanford on Friday, Feb. 8, the University of Denver women's lacrosse team looks to sweep the weekend with a matchup against Cal on Sunday. The Pioneers are set to travel to Berkeley, Calif. where they will face the Bears at 1 p.m. MT on Feb. 10.
The Crimson and Gold last saw the Bears back on Feb. 10, 2017, where Denver won 15-5 on Cal's home turf, scoring 10 goals in the second half alone.
The Pioneers brought home their first win of the year against Stanford on Friday evening.
Hannah Liddy totaled three of Denver's eight goals, earning her first hat trick of the season, while
Eliza Radochonski totaled two and
Julia Feiss,
Molly Little and
Quintin Hoch-Bullen each posted one.
Elizabeth Behrins and
Kennedy Milburn held down the Denver defense with three caused turnovers apiece, and
Carson Gregg played all 60-minutes in goal to post seven saves.
Cal opened the season with a loss against Michigan on Friday night, falling 10-15. Susie Ropp earned a hat trick for the Bears, while Eliza Christman, Marisa Kuberra and Caroline Corzel each posted two goals. The Cal goalkeeper, Jenny Wilkens, played all 6-minutes in the net and totaled seven saves with a .318 save percentage.
