[11] Denver Blasts Past Stags; 20-4

FAIRFIELD – The No. 11 University of Denver women's lacrosse team defeated Fairfield 20-4 on the road on Friday afternoon. The Pioneers improved to 5-1 on the year, while the Stags fell to 4-3.
 
Quintin Hoch-Bullen led the Denver offense with six shots and five goals, tallying a season-high .517 shot percentage.
 
"This was a great team win," said head coach Liza Kelly. "After almost two weeks off we were excited to get back on the field. I was really happy to get some new faces out there today. Top to bottom everyone had a strong game!"
 
Pioneer Performers:
Ten Pioneers contributed to Denver's 20 goals, with Hoch-Bullen posting five, Julia Feiss totaling four and Eliza Radochonski coming up with three. Radochonski also tallied three assists, six points, six shots and two ground balls.
 
Maddie Baum took control of center field, winning five draw controls against Fairfield. Audrey Schreck followed closely with four.
 
Kendra Lanuza had herself a day, accumulating two goals, three assists, five points and one ground ball. Elizabeth Behrins also remained consistent in the midfield, totaling four caused turnovers and two ground balls.
 
Hot Offense:
Hoch-Bullen kicked off the scoring early against Fairfield, tabbing the Pioneers' first goal just 40-seconds into the game. She also notched the first in the second half, coming 10-seconds after the starting whistle.
 
Hoch-Bullen, Feiss and Radochonski all each put away big numbers for the Pioneers. Hoch-Bullen tabbed three in the first half and two in the second, totaling 15 goals on the season. Feiss' third goal put the Crimson and Gold up by 10, starting the running clock.
 
Radochonski's back-to-back goals in the first half put Denver up by 10-1.
 
Hannah Liddy's single goal of the game came from a killer shot right in front of the Fairfield net with nine minutes left in the game, shooting backwards to the upper left corner past the Stags' goalie.
 
Holding Down the Fort:
Carson Gregg spent 43-minutes in goal, totaling two saves and a .400 save percentage. Amelia Cole saw some action in net towards the end of the second half, accumulating 12-minutes of playing time and allowing one goal.
 
New Contributions:
Alex Di Chiara and Sammie Morton both tabbed their first career goals for the Pioneers. Di Chiara earned DU's 17th of the day with seven minutes left in the second half, Morton followed suit with 6:08 left in the game.
 
Freshman Chloe Lewis made her collegiate debut in net for the Crimson and Gold as well. 
 
What's Next:
The Pioneers will remain on the road as they face Harvard on Sunday, March 10 at 10 a.m. MT.
