Simon Turns in Impressive Performances at French Nationals

Sophomore Charlotte Simon takes ninth in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 breast

RENNES, France – University of Denver junior women's swimmer Charlotte Simon (Saint Remy, France) finished ninth in the 100 breast with a 1:11.57 and fifth in the 200 breast with a 2:31.26 at the 2019 French Elite National Championships this week.
 
Both times for Simon were lifetime bests.
 
Earlier this week Josie Valette (Boulder, Colo.) qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 fly finals at the French Elite National Championships. Valette finished fourth in the A-Final on Tuesday at a time of 1:00.00, 0.51 seconds ahead of her prelim time that qualified her sixth Tuesday morning and 1.1 seconds better than her lifetime best entering the week.
 
Later in the week, Valette took 18th in the 50 free with a lifetime best 26.30.
