DENVER – University of Denver women's basketball head coach
Jim Turgeon announced the addition of the
David Pennewell to his staff on Monday. The West Chester, Pa. native joins the staff in the role of Director of Basketball Operations.
Pennewell joins the Pioneers from Purdue, where he has spent the past six years in various roles with the Boilermakers women's basketball program. He recently was a graduate assistant the past two seasons.
"I want to start by thanking the University of Denver, the administration and Coach Turgeon," Pennewell said. "I am very excited for this opportunity to help build upon an already successful and growing program. I am thrilled to get started and contribute to the development of our young women into champions both on and off the court."
While at Purdue, Pennewell organized and planned travel logistics, including hotels, all meals, bus charters and flight charters.
Pennewell also was a head student manager from 2013-17. He executed pre-practice and pre-game procedures and assisted coaches with the completion of various tasks and projects.
Denver returns to the hardwood in the fall.
