DENVER- Coming off a 2-1 trip to Honolulu, Hawai'i, the Pioneers are set to face another weekend triple header in Lincoln, Nebraska beginning Friday with a matchup against LMU (9:00 a.m. MT).

DU enters the weekend 5-1 following their first loss of the season, falling to Hawai'i in the final match of the Rainbow Wahine Classic 3-1. The Crimson and Gold opened the tournament with consecutive sweeps against Sacramento State and Army West Point.
Top performers for the Pios are junior outside hitter
Lydia Bartalo who was named to the Rainbow Wahine All-Tournament team following her performance this past weekend. Bartalo leads the Pioneers averaging 3.3 kills per set with a total of 66 on the season. Defensively, the Pios are averaging 2.18 blocks per set, with freshman
Brianna Green leading the way tallying 32 blocks so far. Junior
Macy Carrabine leads Denver in digs with 54 while junior setter
Ellie Anderson has a total of 98 assists on the season.
DENVER vs. LOYOLA MARYMOUNT

Scouting LMU: Loyola enters the weekend with a 3-3 record. The Lions are led by freshman outside hitter, Rose Booth who averages 4.05 kills per set and has totaled 73 through six matches. Defensively, freshman libero Mary Shroll leads the Lions with 4.72 digs per set. As a team, the Lions are hitting .222 on the year while averaging 14.1 kills per set. The only meeting between DU and LMU came in September of 2016. The Pios ran away with the match 3-1 (25-13,25-18, 16-25, 25-22) on their home court.
DENVER vs. No. 2 NEBRASKA

Scouting Nebraska: Entering this weekend ranked second in the nation, the Huskers are off to a 4-0 start with one top-25 win coming against San Diego. Lexi Sun leads the Huskers averaging 3.81 kills per set. Kenzie Knuckles is leading the team defensively averaging 4.63 digs per set. NU is second in the Big Ten in digs, averaging 16.38 per set. The only meeting between the Huskers and Pioneers came on September 12, 2014 when the Huskers swept the Pios in Lincoln (25-15, 25-17, 25-21).
DENVER vs. HIGH POINT

Scouting High Point: High Point enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record, their wins coming against Lipscomb and Furman.The High Point offense is led by freshman Annie Sullivan after recording a team-high 57 kills through seven matches and assist leader Maria Miggins who averages 6.27 assists per set. The Panthers have recorded a total of 270 digs while adding 27 blocks on the year. This will be the first meeting between the Pioneers and the Panthers since Denver entered division I in 1998.
