DENVER – The University of Denver men's soccer team and nine-man Eastern Illinois split the points in both teams' Summit League openers on Saturday afternoon at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
 
Denver out-shot Eastern Illinois 27-3, held a 13-0 edge in corner kicks and forced Panthers' goalkeeper Jonathan Burke into eight saves on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers had 64-percent possession in the match, with 63-percent of their possession coming in the attacking half.
 
DU took all 10 shots of extra time, including a headed effort from junior Josh Drack (Chandler, Ariz.), who's attempt ricocheted off the crossbar.

UP NEXT:
Denver will begin a stretch of five of six matches away from home on Monday when the Pioneers travel to Pitt. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT, and the match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Xtra.
