DENVER – Sophomore goalie
Magnus Chrona of the No. 5 Denver Pioneers hockey team was named Preseason All-NCHC, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Media members voted for three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender on their ballot with each vote worth one point. The top three vote-getters at forward, top two defensemen and highest vote-getting goaltender made up the preseason all-conference team. A total of 28 ballots were submitted by local media members from each school, as well as select national media.
Chrona posted a 16-6-4 record in 2019-20 to rank 3
rd among NCAA freshmen in GAA (2.15), save percentage (.920) and wins (16) with a pair of shutouts. His GAA ranked second among all NCHC goalies, while his save percentage paced all conference netminders. The Stockholm, Sweden native and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect made the NCHC All-Rookie team with the third-most votes received.

Denver is set to open the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in the NCHC pod.
