DENVER – Sophomore forward
Bobby Brink of the No. 4 Denver Pioneers hockey team was named the U.S. National Junior Team 29-player preliminary roster staged to compete at the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship from Dec. 25, 2020 – Jan. 5, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta, USA Hockey announced on Monday.The final 25-man roster will be announced on Dec. 13.
Brink represented the U.S. at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship, where the Minnetonka, Minn. native had one goal and one assist in five games. In his freshman season at DU, Brink was a unanimous selection for the NCHC All-Rookie Team and named a finalist for NCHC Rookie of the Year. He finished second in NCHC rookie scoring with 11 goals and 13 assists in 28 games. On the power play, Brink paced conference freshmen with 13 power-play points on six goals and seven assists. Brink had 77 shots, the second-most among NCHC freshmen, and finished the regular season with a +1 rating. He was selected 34
th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2019 NHL Draft.
