Lubbock, Texas - One day after upsetting No. 25 South Carolina 4-3, the Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (7-2, 0-0) won its third straight match with a 4-3 victory against Texas Tech on Monday. Texas Tech was ranked in the Top 25 of the Oracle/ITA rankings earlier this season. 

The Pioneers played from behind as a team and as individuals in their third win in four days. Denver trailed 3-1 before Britt Pursell won 7-6 (5), 7-5 at #3, Taylor Melville won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at #1 and Camille Verden-Anderson won 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at #6 to clinch the win. Tatum Burger had the other singles win for the Pioneers with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at #5. While Denver dropped the doubles point, Anna Riedmiller and Camille Verden-Anderson tag-teamed a 6-2 win at #3.

The women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 against BYU and Sunday, Feb. 23 against Utah.
