DENVER – The Denver Pioneers hockey team (19-8-5, NCHC 9-7-4-3) rose to 6^th in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, as released on Monday.
 
The Pioneers earned 752 points in the USCHO.com poll on a ballot submitted by 50 voters, including coaches, beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. Cornell ranked 1^st with 961 points and 27 first-place votes, while Minnesota State took 2^nd with 940 points and 14 first-place votes and North Dakota took 3^rd with 939 points and nine first-place votes. Denver received 342 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll conducted in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) with input from coaches and members of the media from each of the six Division I college hockey conferences as well as officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey. North Dakota took 1^st with 486 points and 16 first-place votes, while Cornell ranked 2^nd with 471 points and 12 first-place votes and Minnesota State ranked 3^rd with 463 points and six first-place votes. The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) had four teams ranked in the USCHO poll: North Dakota (3), Minnesota Duluth (5), Denver (6) and Western Michigan (19). The NCHC had four teams ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll: North Dakota (1), Minnesota Duluth (5), Denver (6) and Western Michigan (16).
