Cole Guttman of the No. 6 Denver Pioneers hockey team (19-8-5, 9-7-4-3) were named NCHC Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Mitchell was named NCHC Defenseman of the Week for the second time this season after leading conference defensemen with two goals and two assists in Denver's sweep of Miami last weekend. The Calahoo, Alberta native and Chicago Blackhawks prospect had one goal and one assist in Friday's 7-3 win, then added one goal in Saturday's 7-0 victory. Mitchell led NCHC blueliners with 10 shots, two power-play points and registered a +1 rating.
Guttman was named NCHC Forward of the Week after pacing all conference skaters with six points on three goals and three assists last weekend. The Los Angeles, Calif. native and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect recorded two goals and one assist on Friday, then added his NCAA leading sixth game-winning goal and two helpers on Saturday. Guttman claimed a conference-leading three power-play points and +4 rating. He went 21-13 in the faceoff circle.
