Jones Earns Top-20 Finish at Bandon Dunes Championship

Pioneers finish tied for 13th
BANDON, Ore. – The University of Denver men's golf team finished tied for 13th at the Bandon Dunes Championship on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,577 yard Pacific Dunes course at the Bandon Dunes Resort.
The Pioneers posted a third-round total of 290 (6-over) to finish with a 54-hole score of 876 (24-over). DU tied with in-state foe Northern Colorado.
Competing as an individual, Connor Jones used his round two momentum to make another jump on the individual leaderboard to finish tied 18th. He posted is second straight round par or better (71; even) to finish the tournament with a 54-hole total of 214 (1-over).
"Although we didnt finish the way we wanted to, ther were of a ton of positive things for everyone on the team to build on," Jones said. "I'm excited to show our true potential next week in Eugene."
Oregon State captured the team title with a score of 841 (11-under), while Washington (849; 3-under) took second and Oregon (854; 2-over) claimed third.
Carson Griggs held steady in round three, finishing tied for 34th. Griggs carded a round three score of 1-over (72) par and give him a three-round total of 217 (4-over).
Jun Ho Won had a 1-over (71) par third round as he placed tied for 40th with a score of 218 (5-over).
Cal McCoy fired a tournament total of 221 (8-over) to tie for 51st, while Jackson Solem for 64th with a score of 225 (12-over). John Sand posted a 229 (16-over), tying for 83rd.
Denver returns to action for the Duck Invitational on Mar. 23.
