DENVER — The University of Denver ski team had five skiers named First Team All-RMISA, while four earned Second Team honors, the conference announced Thursday.
Freshman
Eveliina Piippo was the lone Nordic racer named to the First Team All-RMISA. The freshman has had a tremendous year, claiming three titles and a fourth place finish. She was also named the RMISA Skier of the Week on Feb. 18.
Tobias Kogler,
Amelia Smart,
Storm Klomhaus, and
Andrea Komsic were all named First Team All-RMISA for the alpine side.
Having qualified for his third NCAA Championships, Kogler finished the regular season with six top five finishes. He won the giant slalom at the Denver Invitational and the slalom at the RMISA Championships.
Klomhaus opened the season with a win in the slalom at the Colorado Invitational and capped the 2020 regular season off taking second-place in both the slalom and giant slalom at the RMISA Championships.
Komsic earns the honor after finishing in the top-10 in all eight races she competed in. Her highlight of the season was taking second in the slalom at the Denver Invitational.
It was another strong year for Amelia who won the slalom at the Utah Invitational and RMISA Championships. She earned her third NCAA Championships berth this year.
Freshman
Bernhard Flaschberger was tabbed Nordic Second Team All-RMISA after claiming top-10 finishes in all eight races he skied in. The freshman skied to victories in the 10K freestyle at the Aspen RMISA Qualifier and RMISA Championships.
For the alpine team,
Colby Lane,
Eleri Smart, and
Katie Hensien were all named Second Team All-RMISA.
Lane finished third in the slalom at the Utah Invitational and sixth in the slalom at the Denver Invitational to highlight his freshman campaign.
ÂÂHensien finished the regular season by posting a third place finish in the slalom and placing 13th in the giant slalom at the RMISA Championships.
In the opening series of her collegiate career, Eleri took home third in the slalom at the Denver Invitational. She closed the 2020 regular season with an 11
th place giant slalom finish and seventh place slalom finish at the RMISA Championships.Â
