DENVER – Freshman goalie Magnus Chrona of the No. 6 Denver Pioneers hockey team (21-9-6, 11-8-5-4) was named NCHC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
 
Chrona started both games last weekend against Colorado College marking the first time the Pioneers had started the same goalie on consecutive nights since Jan. 10-11 at St. Cloud State. The Stockholm, Sweden native and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect made 36 saves on 38 shots in Friday's 2-2 tie, then made 22 saves on 23 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win.
 
This mark's Chrona's first weekly honor. He was named NCHC Goalie of the Month in October. This season, Chrona is 3^rd among NCAA freshmen with a 2.15 GAA (2^nd NCHC goalies), 3^rd among NCAA freshmen with a .920 save percentage (1^st NCHC goalies) and 3^rd among NCAA freshmen with 16 wins (4^th NCHC goalies).
