1Day4DU Saw 450 Donors Support Denver Athletics and Recreation

The Division of Athletics and Recreation raised over $135,000 last week in support of student-athletes, club sports and recreation programming
DENVER – Despite the impact that COVID-19 is having on our country and the world in 2020, the University of Denver community rallied around the Division of Athletics and Recreation during the Sixth Annual 1Day4DU last Wednesday, as 450 donors combined to give over $135,000 last week to support our student-athletes, club sports and recreational programming.
This impactful response from donors during unprecedented times was a reminder that, even while apart, Pioneer Nation is resilient and will come out of this pandemic stronger and more united than ever.
"I want to thank the alumni, parents, students, staff and friends of the University of Denver who participated in 1Day4DU," Vice Chancellor for Athletics, Recreation and Ritchie Center Operations Karlton Creech said. "Our world faces many challenges and unknowns during this pandemic, but for our community to step up the way it did last Wednesday sends a tremendous message of positivity to our coaches, student-athletes and staff. The collective generosity of our donors will greatly help offset the impact of COVID-19, and move our department forward as we continue to provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes."
The money raised during the annual day of giving will go towards strength and conditioning resources, team travel, nutrition programming, leadership development and academic support services, making a direct impact on our student-athletes day-to-day lives.
