Men’s Golf Wraps Up Arizona Intercollegiate

Solem finishes 17th in first tournament of the season
TUCSON, ARIZ. – The University of Denver men's golf team finished up its first tournament of the 2021 season, placing 10th at the Arizona Intercollegiate on Wednesday. The Pioneers shot a team score of 13-over (297) on the round.
Significant Stats:
- Host Arizona took home the team title at 2-under for the event, six strokes ahead of runner-up Wake Forest.
- The Pioneers finished the 54-hole tournament with a total of 889 (37-over), picking up two wins over Power-5 schools in Washington and Utah.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Jackson Solem (5-over) kept rising up the leader board on Tuesday, finishing tied for 17th after a 72 on the final day of play.
- Esteban Missura closed out the afternoon tied for 31st at 8-over.
- Cal McCoy put up a 74 (3-over) in the final round to finish in a tie for 49th at 11-over.
- Connor Jones ended his day tied for 76th.
- Carson Griggs ended his round tied for 88th.

Denver returns to action for the Prestige on Feb. 15 in La Quinta, Calif.
