Denver Hosts Kansas City to Start Stretch of Four of Six at Home

The Pioneers are the lone remaining perfect team in the Summit League

DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer program will look to remain the only perfect team in Summit League regular season play on Friday when the Pioneers welcome Kansas City to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. MT.

Sydney Sharp's
ninth goal of the season and Devan McSwain's first career tally led the Pioneers to a 2-0 win at Western Illinois on Sunday afternoon in Macomb. The Pioneers finished with a 17-6 edge in shots, including 8-1 on target. Denver also took six of the nine corner kicks in the match.  
 
Denver vs. Kansas City History:

Denver is 2-0-0 all-time against Kansas City, sweeping the season series away from home a year ago, taking both matches in April by a score of 1-0.  
 
Notable Stats:
  • The Pioneers are 57-13-3 in the Summit League since joining the conference in 2013.
  • Denver has scored 30 goals from 13 different players to start the 2021 season. Sharp leads the way with nine goals, followed by six from Glover.
  • The Pioneers 13 different goal scorers, tying for the most in a single season since 2010. Denver's school record for different players to score in a season is 18 in the 2006 campaign.
  • Career Points Record Update: Feller has 78 career points, putting her seventh in Denver's DI record book. Beckman has 74 career points, moving her into ninth.  
  • Career Assists Record Update: Beckman has 38 career assists, moving her one assist off co-record holders Nicholette DiGiacomo and Jamie Norwood. Feller has 24 assists, good for seventh in Denver's DI record book.
  • Career Goals Record Update: Feller has 27 career goals, good for eighth in Denver's DI history.
  • Taylor Parker has made 91 career appearances, breaking the school record previously held by Lizzy Carlson, Mariah Johnston and Kari Storslett at 89 matches. Parker also holds the career starts record, starting in all 91 of her appearances.
  • Brittney Lewis has played in 90 matches, starting 86 of them.
  • Head coach Jeff Hooker holds a record of 388-162-51 (.688) in his 30 seasons as the head coach of the Pioneers.
