DENVER – The University of Denver hockey team moved up three spots in the national polls on Monday and now rank eighth in the country in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Polls.
 
No. 8 Denver is 4-0-0 on the season and is coming off a weekend sweep of the Air Force Academy, winning 4-1 on Friday and 8-0 on Saturday. DU was previously ranked 11th in both polls.
 
The Pioneers are in the top 10 for the first time since Dec. 14, 2020. The team began the year ranked 13th in the USCHO.com Poll and were unranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.
 
Denver received 656 points and one first-place vote in the USCHO.com poll and is just three points behind seventh-ranked Quinnipiac (659) and 19 points behind sixth-ranked North Dakota. The Pioneers got 258 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, two more than No. 9 UMass and 31 behind No. 9 Quinnipiac.
 
NEXT UP: The No. 8-ranked Pioneers begin their first road trip of the season as they play at No. 12 Providence College on Friday and at No. 10 Boston College on Saturday.
