Pioneers in Hunt through Day Two at Ron Moore

Denver back six strokes heading into final round on Sunday

HIGHLANDS RANCH – The University of Denver women's golf team was able to withstand the wind on Saturday, closing the gap on leader East Tennessee State after the second round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate. The Pioneers posted a team score of 290 (2-over) on the day.

Tournament & Course Info:

- 6,415 yards
- 87 Players
- 15 teams

Significant Stats:
- East Tennessee State stayed atop the leader board on Moving Day, despite a sluggish round, at 9-under, four shots ahead of Cal Poly.
- The Pioneers ranked third on the par 5s, posting a 5-under score on them in the tournament.
- Tereza Meleka (ETSU) and Toni Sottile (San Francisco) lead the field at 5-under.

Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Anna Krekling put herself position for the individual title with a 1-under score of day two. The junior sits tied for third at 3-under for the tournament.
- Alyson Bean fought her way back with a strong showing on the back nine, finishing tied for 12th at even par.
- Clara Gestsdottir made a big move, jumping up to a tie for 19th at 1-over after firing a 71 on Saturday.
- Anna Zanusso closed out the day in a tie for 24th with teammate Emma Bryant, competing as an individual at 2-over.
- Katarina Drocarova sits tied for 33rd at 3-over.
- Trussy Li, competing as an individual, moved into the top ten after a good second day, tying for ninth at 1-under.
- Erika Danielsson, competing as an individual, ended her round tied for 40th.
 
Up Next:
Final-round play is set for Sunday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. MT.
