ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The University of Denver men's basketball team fell to a hot shooting Dixie State on Saturday at the Burns Arena, 82-62. The loss closed out a six-game road trip for the Pioneers.

Inside the Box Score:
- KJ Hunt lead the way for DU with a team-high 17 points.
- Michael Henn was in double figures with 11.
- Coban Porter added 10 points in his first collegiate start.

Significant Stats:
- DU slipped to 1-7 on the year when trailing at the half.
- The Crimson and Gold dropped to 0-6 this year when allowing more than 70 points in a contest.
- Denver gave up a season-high 16 3s in the loss.
- The Pioneers have not won a road game since Dec. 11, 2018 at Wyoming.
 
Turning Point:
15-2 run from Dixie State to open the game.
 
As it Happened:
 
First Half:
Dixie State opened fast, going on a 15-2 run to start the game, highlighted by a 6-for-6 shooting performance from the field during the 3:52 stretch. The Trailblazers pushed the lead to 18 at 20-2, forcing the Pioneers to take a timeout. DSU continued to attack, building their lead to 23 at 32-9 midway through the half. Denver got some points late but didn't help much as Dixie State lead 48-28 at the half.
 
Second Half:
The teams traded baskets in the first 5:08 in the second half, leading a 62-40 Trailblazer lead. Dixie State grew its lead to 25 again. The Pioneers closed to within 16 after a 9-0 run was capped off by a layup in transition from Hunt made it 71-55. Denver didn't challenge the rest of the way, never getting the DSU lead below double digits.

Denver (3-9) heads home for a three-game homestand beginning next week. First up, a match with UC San Diego on Wednesday. Tip-off set for 7 p.m. MT and can be seen on Altitude 2.
