DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball team saw its season come to a conclusion on Saturday, falling 80-76 to Omaha. With the loss, the Pioneers were officially eliminated from postseason play.

Inside the Box Score:

Significant Stats:
- Denver knocked down seven 3s, 12th time this season.
- The Crimson and Gold had a season-high seven blocks in the game.

Turning Point:
A late turnover from Taelyr Gatlin with nine seconds left that gave Omaha the ball, forcing the Pioneers to foul. The Mavericks went to the line and made both to make it a two-possession game.

As it Happened:

First Half:
The Mavericks used a strong defensive performance in the opening 20 minutes to take a 30-24 advantage at the break. Denver only nine field goals in the half, with only one of those coming from beyond the arc. DU did deal with foul problems in the half, having nine called against, resulting in opportunities for Omaha at the line and with being aggressive on the offensive end.

Second Half:
The Crimson and Gold got into a nice groove in the second half, getting Jones going on the low block while Townsend did damage from deep. A late 3 from Lam with 21 seconds put Denver in positon to take the lead at the end, cutting the deficit to one at 77-76, but a costly turnover late from Gatlin allowed for Omaha to seal this one at the line as the Pioneers were forced to foul in the final nine seconds to extend the game.

Up Next:
Denver (2-19, 1-13 Summit League) returns to action in the fall.
