[-/30] Denver Heads to South Dakota State for Weekend Set

The Pioneers open the second half of the Summit League slate with rematch of 2019 Summit League Final

DENVER –
Who: Denver (8-0-0 Summit) at South Dakota State (4-0-2 Summit)
What: 2020 Summit League Matches 9 and 10 (delayed to 2021 due to COVID-19)
Where: Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium (Brookings, S.D.)
When: Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. MT and Sunday, March 14 at 11 a.m. MT
 
Last Time Out:
Denver swept North Dakota State last weekend to stay perfect in Summit League play. Sami Feller headed in a Natalie Beckman corner kick to win the series opener. Meg Halvorson, Sydney Sharp and Taylor Wells all scored their second goals of the year in Denver's 3-0 win over NDSU on Sunday afternoon.
 
DI Series History:
Denver is 2-5-3 all-time against South Dakota State, winning the regular season title decider 2-1 in October of 2019, before falling in penalty kicks (draw in record keeping) to the Jackrabbits in the 2019 Summit League Final. Denver's only other win in the series came in October of 2013 (4-0).

What's Next:
Denver will continue a four-match road swing next weekend when the Pioneers head to North Dakota for a Friday/Sunday set.

  • Feller has added four goals and five assists for 13 to points, including two game-winning goals.
  • Denver has conceded only three times in nine matches, including two own goals.
  • Feller's 21st career goal on Friday moved her into 12th in Denver's DI history in goals, two behind Kristin Warren and Kalie Vaughn for 10th. Feller's ninth game-winning goal is good for eighth in that category in Denver's DI history.
  • Beckman's career total in assists moved up to 24 on Sunday, taking her into a tie with Kalie Vaughn for sixth in Denver's career record book.
