Senior shoots 71 in opening round
SAN DIEGO – The University of Denver men's golf team finished up day one of the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Monday, tying for 11th in the 20-team field. The Pioneers posted a 6-over 294 on the afternoon.

- Par 71 for the course
- 7,033 yards
Significant Stats:
- San Diego leads the field at 5-under, two strokes ahead of Southern California.
- Nevada's Sam Harned sits atop the leaderboard at 5-under.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Jackson Solem was Denver's top finisher at even par (71), which tied for 17th on the round.
- Connor Jones tied for 33rd at 2-over.
- Esteban Missura sits tied for 49th at 3-over.
- Carson Griggs shot a 76 to put him in a tie for 65th
- Cal McCoy finished up tied for 92nd.
