Denver Closes Out Regular Season at Kansas City

The Pioneers look to clinch Summit League regular season title April 9 and 11 in Kansas City

DENVER –
Who: Denver (12-1-1 Summit) at Kansas City (4-9-1 Summit)
What: 2020 Summit League Matches 15 and 16 (delayed to 2021 due to COVID-19)
Where: Durwood Soccer Stadium (Kansas City, Mo.)
When: Friday, April 9 at 5 p.m. MT and Sunday, April 11 at 12 p.m. MT

Last Time Out:
Prior to its bye weekend last weekend, the Pioneers swept Omaha at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium by scores of 2-1 and 1-0. Natalie Beckman, Malak Rafik and Sydney Sharp all scored for the Pioneers in the weekend sweep.

DI Series History:
Denver and Kansas City will meet for the first time this weekend.

Eyes on the Table:
Denver, South Dakota State and Omaha have all clinched spots in the 2020 Summit League Women's Soccer Tournament. Heading into the final weekend, Denver has a three point lead on South Dakota State in the standings. A win and draw at Kansas City would clinch Denver's 11th NCAA Division I regular season title and its fifth in the Summit League (2013, 2016, 2018, 2019). If Denver lifts the trophy this weekend, it'll be the first time in the program's DI history the Pioneers won three-consecutive regular season titles.

What's Next:
The Summit League Tournament will be played in Omaha April 15-17.
