Denver used an eight-goal fourth quarter to blow the game wide open and complete the regular season sweep of Marquette, defeating the Golden Eagles 16-6 last Saturday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
Jack Hannah and
JJ Sillstrop finished the day with hat tricks.
Jack Thompson made eight saves on 13 shots on goal.

TD Ierlan, Alec Stathakis and
Brett Boos combined to go 19-of-25 with nine ground balls in the victory. Ierlan is 25-for-26 in his first two games with the Pioneers.

DI Series History
Denver is 12-3 all-time against Villanova, winning 11 of the last 12 meetings. The Pioneers are 6-1 at home against the Wildcats. Denver is 36-1 in BIG EAST regular season play since joining the conference in 2014. Villanova is the only team to beat Denver in BIG EAST regular season play, doing so in the last regular season meeting between the two programs (12-11 – 4/6/19 – at Peter Barton).

- Head coach Bill Tierney is in his 12th season with the Pioneers, holding a 144-45 record at DU and a 416-138 career record in his 37th season.
- Denver is fourth in senior class wins (2017-21) with 48, 10 behind national leaders Duke.
- Yale transfer Jackson Morrill has recorded a point in 66-straight games, recording 257 points (127-130) during the stretch. That streak is the longest active streak in the country. Â
- The 2021 Denver Pioneers have players from 18 different states across the country.
- Since turning Division I ahead of the 1999 season, the Pioneers have had players from 32 different states.
- Ethan Walker is now Denver's career leader in points with 258. He broke Wes Berg's record, late in the second quarter of Denver's win against Marquette last weekend.
- The Pioneers are ranked fifth in the country in opponent clearing percentage, limiting opponents to 78.1 percent in the clearing game.
- Denver is ranked third in the country in man-down defense, stopping opponents 81% of the time.
