NEWTON, Kan. – The University of Denver men's golf team got off to a solid start on Saturday at the Summit League Championship Presented by the U.S. Special Warfare, finishing in a tie for second. The Pioneers posted a team score of 294 (6-over).

- Par 72 for the course
- 7,086 yards
Significant Stats:
- Oral Roberts holds a one-shot lead over DU and North Dakota State after 18 holes of play.
- Denver was able to take advantage of scoring chances on the course despite high winds, finishing with 18 birdies on the round, most in the eight-team field.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:

John Sand positioned himself among the leaders, finishing third a 2-under, one shot of the lead.

Cal McCoy and
Carson Griggs tied for 10th at 2-over.

Jackson Solem wrapped up his round tied for 18th at 4-over.
