McCoy Goes Low On Day 1 of NCAA Cle Elum Regional

CLE ELUM, WASH. – The University of Denver men's golf team closed out day one of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional on Monday. The Pioneers fired a team score of even par (284), putting them in a tie eighth place through one round of play.
Course Info:
- Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort
- Par 71 for the course
- 7,069 yards
Significant Stats:
- Top five teams and individual from non-advancing team advance to NCAA Championship.
- The Pioneers rank first in playing the par 5s, shooting 12-under.
- The Crimson and Gold's Cal McCoy and Carson Griggs recorded four birdies on their respective rounds.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- McCoy led the charge for the Pioneers, shooting 2-under (69) to finish tied for 12th.
- Griggs tied for 15th after going under par with a 70 (1-under).
- Jackson Solem wrapped up his day tied for 26th at even par.
- Esteban Missura finished up tied for 51st.
- John Sand closed out tied for 70th.

The Pioneers will look to make a move in round two on Tuesday.
