DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer team got a goal from
Jordan Crockett 70 seconds into extra time to send the Pioneers past Colorado State 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. With the victory, Denver won the Colorado Cup for the first time since 2013.

First Half:
Denver got off to a slow start in the opening 45 minutes, but controlled a good portion of the play in the later stages of the first half without finding the breakthrough. The Pioneers had 61% of the possession in the first half, but shots were level 5-5.
Denver put three of its five shots on target and the teams went into the intermission at 0-0.
Second Half:
Denver came out of the interval on a mission.
Natalie Beckman had a cross hit off the crossbar and
Sami Feller's rebound attempt was right at the keeper in the 46
th minute. Denver outshot Colorado State 10-3 in the second 45, but couldn't find the opener.
Riley Baker appeared to have scored the breakthrough in the 80
th minute, but
Sami Feller was whistled for a foul after CSU goalkeeper Amanda Green stopped her attempt on goal.
Crockett scored on the first shot of extra time. Beckman picked up a recycled ball outside of the 18, and laid it off to Crockett who took two touches to her right and picked out the side netting of the far post for her first career goal.
Notes:
The assist was the 30
th of Beckman's career, and her 62
nd career point to move her into a tie with volunteer assistant
Katie Hooker (Antongiovanni) for 12
th on Denver's career points list.
What's Next:
Denver will continue its home stand on Thursday when the Pioneers host Utah for a 7 p.m. MT kickoff. The match will be streamed live on Pioneer Vision.
