Bartalo adds 12 kills in dominant performance

DENVER – The University of Denver Volleyball team shook off a scrappy Cal State Fullerton team on Friday night in Hamilton, winning in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-17). The victory upped the Pioneers' winning streak to four, a season best.

Inside the Box Score

Lydia Bartalo had a match-high 12 kills, her fifth match this year in double figures.
Erica Andrich added 11 kills, tying a career high.
Hailey Green added 10 kills for a new personal best.

Significant Stats

DU recorded a season-high nine blocks, the fifth straight match with at least eight.
The Pioneers win puts them at 99-9 at home since 2014.
Denver has now started 7-1 for a fourth straight season.

The Pioneers closing the match with a 9-1 run in the third set.

1st Set
A 6-3 run to start put Denver in the driver's seat early in the opening set. The Pioneers built their lead to five at 14-9 after an unsuccessful challenge by Cal State Fullerton on a kill from Brianna Green, her first of the evening. DU wrapped up the first set on a kill from Ari Winters to take it 25-22.

2nd Set
The Titans quickly struck for the first two points before Denver ran off four of the next five to take the lead at 4-3. A push midway through the set from CSF made it close 18-17 but the Pioneers closed with a 7-3 run capped off by a power kill from Bartalo.

3rd Set
Third set start in favor of the Crimson and Gold, using a 7-3 run. CSF tied things at 15-15 after an ace from Neena Dimas. DU countered with
