Denver Closes Out Non-Conference Play at San Diego Saturday

The Pioneers will look to get back in the win column ahead of Summit League opener on October 1

DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer program will start a four-match road swing on Saturday when the Pioneers close out non-conference play with a trip to San Diego. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. MT.

Last Time Out:
The Pioneers got an early breakthrough from Kaitlyn Glover, but fell 3-1 to Colorado on Sunday afternoon at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
 
Denver vs. San Diego Series History:
Denver is 1-2-1 in its Division I history against San Diego, with Saturday night's encounter marking the first between the two programs since 2017. Denver lost that last meeting 3-1. The first three meetings all took place between 2000 and 2004. Denver drew the only other meeting in San Diego 1-1, and won 3-0 in the Mile High City in 2004.
 
Notable Stats:
  • Denver has scored 23 goals from 12 different players to start the 2021 season. Sydney Sharp leads the way with five goals, followed by three apiece from Riley Baker and Kaitlyn Glover. Natalie Beckman and Ella Frost round out the multi-goal scorers with two apiece.  
  • The Pioneers 12 different goal scorer's marks the most since 2013, when Denver had 13 different players find the back of the net. Denver's school record for different players to score in a season is 18 in the 2006 campaign.
  • Career Points Record Update: Feller has 76 career points, putting her seventh in Denver's DI record book. Beckman has 70 career points, moving her into a tie for ninth.  
  • Career Assists Record Update: Beckman has 34 career assists, two off Kristen Hamilton's 36 career assists and five assists off co-record holders Nicholette DiGiacomo and Jamie Norwood. Feller has 21 assists, good for ninth in Denver's DI record book.
  • Career Goals Record Update: Feller has 27 career goals, good for eighth in Denver's DI history.

Denver opens Summit League play with a three-game road swing, starting with a rematch of this spring's Summit League Final between the Pioneers and Omaha Mavericks at Caniglia Field.
