DENVER – The University of Denver Volleyball team bounced back in a big way on Friday night, taking down Northeastern 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-20) in Hamilton Gymnasium. The Pioneers picked up their first home victory of the year in the win.

Inside the Box Score

• Tina Boe had her best outing of the year, with 12 kills and six total blocks.
• Lydia Bartalo recorded seven kills and team-most 11 digs.
• Ari Winters and Erica Andrich each added nine kills.
• DU had six service aces on the night.

• Boe's 12 kills were a new season high.
• The Pioneers' posted a season-best .325 hitting percentage.

Turning Point
Denver using a dominating effort in the second set to take a 2-0 advantage in match.

1st Set
Denver started with a 3-1 advantage before Northeastern went on an 8-2 run, forcing the Pioneers to take a timeout. DU came out swinging, retaking the lead and pushing it four at 18-14 after a kill from Hailey Green. The Crimson and Gold wrapped up the set 25-22 on some nice plays from Boe and Bartalo.

2nd Set
Both teams traded points to start set two, resulting in a 5-5 tie after a kill from Andrich. Denver got separation, going on a 5-1 run to make it 11-7 after Boe recorded her third kill. The Huskies got back to within two at 14-12, but it was all Pioneers from there, taking the set 25-16.

3rd Set
The third set opened competitively, with neither finding separation from the other. At 20-18, Denver made its move, closing with a 5-2 run that was powered by some big plays from Brianna Green.

Up Next
The Pioneers (4-1) wrap up the Denver Invitational with a meeting against Mercer on Saturday. First serve is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen on Pioneer Vision.
