DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball team turned in its most complete game of the year on Saturday, dominating North Dakota on the way to a 93-74 victory. The Pioneers pulled back to 2-2 in Summit League play with the win.

Coban Porter, back after missing the last game, continued his impressive freshman campaign, pouring in 20 points in just 23 minutes. The Columbia, Mo. native had it going from deep, knocking down four 3s on the day.

KJ Hunt recorded his third game in the last four with at least 20 points, finishing with 20 in the win.

Jordan Johnson was in full command from the point-guard position, notching 15 points and tying a season high with eight assists.
Significant Stats:
- DU's 93 points were the most it scored in regulation since a 91-76 win against Omaha back on Jan. 18, 2020.
- The 19-point victory was the largest by the Pioneers since a 28-point win back on Feb. 28, 2019.
- Denver tied a season high with 10 3s made.
- The Pioneers' 21 assists were a new season high.
- The Crimson and Gold improved to 3-0 this year when shooting over 50 percent in a game.
- DU had five players in double figures for the second time this season.
- Hunt has now scored at least 20 points in six games this year.
Turning Point:
A 21-9 run over a 7:03 stretch in the first half to take it from a five-point game at 27-22 to 48-31 DU.
As it Happened:
First Half:
Denver got out to a 16-9 lead to start the game behind the hot shooting of Porter, who opened with eight of the first 16 points. Porter continued to light it up from deep, knocking down his third triple of the half to make it 27-18 with 8:34 remaining. The Pioneers pushed their lead to 14 at 41-27 after a deep 3 from Johnson with just under four minutes left in the half. DU kept on the gas, taking a 54-37 advantage into the break.
Second Half:
The Pioneers put the lead up to 21 in the opening moments of the second half after Porter got an open layup to make it 61-40. A jumper from Johnson gave the Crimson and Gold a 25-point edge at 68-43. North Dakota had a 7-2 run late that cut the DU advantage to 17 at 79-62, forcing Denver to take a timeout. Denver responded out of the timeout, pushing the lead back to 24. The Fighting Hawks never challenged the rest of the way, giving the Pioneers the 19-point victory.
